Laserlipolysis is the name of the procedure performed by the Smartlipo, a minimally invasive technique for removing localised subcutaneous fats in the areas that are normally resistant to dieting and physical exercise. Through a fibreoptic laser, we can melt areas of fat up to about 500mls.

The Smartlipo laser provokes the breaking up of the membranes of the fat cells, transforming them into an oily substance and debris that is absorbed or eliminated in a natural manner. We prefer to suck out the lasered material out via a low power suction. This markedly accelerates recovery time.

The results allow one to attain the ideal body shape in a relatively short time, without the secondary effects of more aggressive procedures.

What is it about?
Laserlipolysis is a technique that destroys fat deposits in specific areas of the body. Using a laser system which breaks down the membranes of fat cells, the fats are eliminated by the body in a most natural way.
It is a minimally invasive treatment which facilitates body modelling and its results gives rise to a harmonious body shape in a short time.

How long does it take?
A Laserlipolysis treatment, or Smarlipo, takes, on average, one hour, depending on the size of the area treated. Thus patients can undergo this treatment in doctors' clinics and even return to work after a lunchtime treatment!

Recovery Period / After Effects
Patients can return to their normal activities almost immediately, although it is advisable to avoid strenuous sports, hot showers for 10 days, or intense massage for 4-5 weeks.

Comparing to other more invasive procedurs, the after effects of bruising or swelling of Smartlipo / Laserlipolysis treatment is significantly reduced. This is due to the therapeutic effects of the laser which coagulates the blood vessels immediately, thus reducing the trauma beneath the skin.

When will I get to see results? How long does it last?
For some patients, they will be able to see immediate results, with aspiration of excess fat. On average, most will see the final results in about 2-3 months. There would be good improvement in the contour, regularity and contraction of the skin.

Fat cells are destroyed through the laser system and the fats are eliminated in a natural manner. Results are long term, giving rise to a harmonious silhouette.

It is important to note, however, that the treatment does not guarantee that one would not gain weight or accumulate fat deposits in other areas of the body.
