Battle Photo-ageing with Antioxidants and Sunblock

It's hard to avoid the damaging rays of the sun while living in the tropics. Naturally, the skin uses antioxidants to protect itself from photo-ageing effects such as fine line, wrinkles. A popular antioxidant, Vitamin C helps to neutralise harmful free radicals and reduce inflammation of the skin.

Skin Ceuticals Topical Vitamin C products feature stabilised L-ascorbic acid, the natural form of vitamin C, at a low pH to protect skin from environmental damage. According to the Duke University research, this formulation delivers 20 to 40 times more vitamin C to the skin compared to diet or supplements.

It has been proven that a combination of vitamin C and pure vitamin E offers greater benefits than vitamin C and vitamin E alone.

"What makes a product containing vitamin C and D so effective is the synergy between the ingredients and the high concentrations of each," says Dr Sheldon R Pinnell, MD, The J Lamar Callaway Professor Emeritus of Dermatology and Duke University Medical Center and consultant to Skin Ceuticals. Hence the efficacy of the product does not depend on the number of antioxidants within the formulation.

To protect skin from the ravages of UVB and UVA rays, Skin Ceuticals

offers Ultimate UV Defense SPF 30 and Ultimate UV Defense Sport 45 (waterproof).

This broad-spectrum sunscreen offers near complete protection from UVA exposure when used with antioxidant vitamins
